Tour of the Center for Hellenic Studies Library

Join us on Saturday, April 19 for a spring weekend tour of Harvard University's Center for Hellenic Studies library. Located at 3100 Whitehaven Street, NW, the library staff will be giving a tour starting at 10:45. We are asking that everyone arrive as close to 10:30 as possible so that we can start on time. This is a beautiful building and grounds and the time of year should be perfect for a visit to the library. We are limiting the group to 20 so sign up early. Send your space reservation to Diane Haddick at dhaddick@floc.org or call her with questions - 202.349.3531.

Directions to the library:

The CHS campus is on Whitehaven Street, which runs into Massachusetts Ave. The intersection of Mass Ave. and Whitehaven is about a mile north of Dupont Circle and two or three blocks north of the Islamic Center. The intersection is just south of the Naval Observatory and the Vice President's Residence. The Brazilian Embassy is on the corner. Turn onto Whitehaven St. and go up almost to the end; our entrance is on the left right before you reach the Danish Embassy. Turn left and follow the paved road until you reach a small parking lot and the building in the picture. This is the library building.

Visitors can use the parking lot in front of the library building and the parking lot to the left of the library building.

The most convenient Metro station for the Center is at Dupont Circle (red line). The N2, N4 & N6 buses run up Mass. Ave. from Dupont Circle towards the Center. Check the bus listings online to make sure of the times.

Cost of the event is $5 for DCLA members and library school students; $10 for non-members. Checks can be mailed to DCLA, P.O. Box 14177, Benjamin Franklin Station, Washington, DC 20044.
