  Candidate for ALA President and former President of the District of Columbia Library Association Molly Raphael is visiting Washington, DC and DCLA is hosting a reception for member and friends.
  
  The event is being held in the Chastleton Ballroom, the community room of the Chastleton Condominiums, located at 1701 16th Street, NW (at the corner of 16th and R Streets, NW). There is no charge for the event. DCLA and its members are purchasing refreshments and have paid for the rental of the space. Donations toward the event will be accepted but will not be solicited.
  
  Molly Raphael served in urban public libraries for 40 years. Raphael’s 33 years at the District of Columbia Public Library (DCPL) began as a youth librarian and culminated in her appointment as Library Director in 1997. In 2003, Raphael was recruited to lead the award-winning Multnomah County Library (MCL) in Portland, Oregon.

  DC/SLA members and guests and 2010 Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) Conference attendees are invited to join the Military Librarians Group of DC/SLA for "The ABC's of Military Resources" with Greta Marlatt and Lily McGovern. This presentation is a reprise of their popular session first given to a full-house during SLA's 2009 conference in Washington, DC. If you are confused by the abundance of military information and don't know where to turn for the most authoritative and useful resources, this program is a must for you.

  DINNER: After the presentation, groups will embark to local restaurants together. There is no charge for the presentation. Dinner attendees will pay individually for their meals at the restaurants.  All attendees must register.
